The Norwegian IMS Group AS has purchased all shares of the Finnish Sauvo-based Pocadel Oy in a transaction taking place on 29 September 2022.
Pocadel Oy is a manufacturer of demanding glazed fire doors and walls used onboard ships and at offshore sites. Over the last 25 years, the company has grown into an international market leader, especially in the supply of grade A and B fireproof glass structures for cruise ships. Approximately 80% of Pocadel products are exported. The most important export destinations are Italy, France, and Germany. The company’s production facilities are located in Sauvo, Finland and the design office is in Turku, Finland.
“We are very happy to have found such a good successor for our business”, says Mrs Maria Perrakoski, who has served as the Chairman of the Pocadel Board thus far. “Pocadel is a quality brand well known by both Finnish and international clients, we have skilled personnel and good products. All of us owners are reaching retirement age, and there are no good successors in our immediate vicinity, so selling to the right buyer was the perfect opportunity to ensure the on-going growth and profitability of the company.
IMS Group companies manufacture for instance various types of doors for offshore and marine market. This transaction opens up new vistas for Pocadel, especially in the offshore and yacht markets. There are plenty of synergies across operations, such as in after sales operations, the significance of which is continuously increasing as door automations become more commonplace.

IMS strategy is to keep the company as is in Sauvo Finland. We will only add production capacity from other European factories in the group when needed to shorten delivery time. Furthermore, we will use capacity in the group to continue with product development. IMS group has its own fire test facilities where we do countless tests to optimize the products in the group.
